I got an early night last night and today was much better for it. So now I feel more motivated to post about Sunday, and other things.
So I already said a little bit about the final Ranbat of the season. I'm #14 in the
full ranking table, just under Alun. That's 6 points after 6 tournaments, so a point each for merely attending (the full table needs updating with the updated scores, it's 1 tourney behind) 8D There is a group photo of everyone who took part, but it's far too small to actually make many people out (I don't know why they thought it would be a good idea to shrink the photo down a lot and lower the quality). Jay's all the way up there in 5th!
The next season will be Tekken 6, which I have no interest in whatsoever. So I'll be sitting those out. I may still pop up there with Jay every now and then for the casual dojo nights they have in between ranbats though. It's a cool community they have there.
I also got to play Arc System's (makers of Guilty Gear) new fighter
BlazBlue. It's a fun and interesting diversion from SFIV. Where SFIV was slow and measured in its fighting BlazBlue is furious and over the top, favouring 30+hit looping aerial juggle combos over street fighter's tappity-tap FADC-into-ultras. I've not played it much, but I'm currently liking
V-13 (Or "Nu", as the game actually calls her). Though, as it turns out, she's a rather top-tier (embarrassingly strong) character XD She does seem to be able to fight from full screen away and do some
pretty nasty-looking stuff without having to press too close to the opponent XD I'm a horrible top-tier skank.
In other news, I may not be able to get the Friday of Ayacon off from the hospital, due to apparently a lot of other people having that day off too. Geez. Why does everyone have to pick that day/week?? We shall see what happens. Which reminds me, I still need to book accommodation for that XD
Also, there may be a risk of me not being able to take the modules I need to take this september due to low staffing levels not being able to support my going on a day-release =( I shall have to see what I can sort out on that front too.
Now though, I am going to go to bed. Hopefully tomorrow won't see me particularly sleep-deprived!
